Sean Scanlon (politician)
Sean Scanlon (born December 20, 1986) is an American politician who is the current Comptroller of Connecticut. Scanlon previously served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 98th district. Early life and career Scanlon was born on December 20, 1986 in New Haven, Connecticut, to Kathy (nee LaValle) and John Scanlon. Scanlon's mother was a small business owner and his father was a retired New York City Police officer. After graduating from Boston College Boston College (BC) is a private Jesuit research university in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Connecticut State Comptroller
The State Comptroller is the chief fiscal guardian of the State of Connecticut. The duties and responsibilities of the state comptroller include, among other things, overseeing state accounting, preparing state financial reports, paying and administering benefits to state employees, settling demands against the state that do not first have to be approved or adjusted by the General Assembly, administering miscellaneous appropriations for employee taxes, insurance, and health services, and administering grants to police, firefighters, and municipalities. Connecticut () is the southernmost state in the New England region of the Northeastern United States.
