Sean Durfy
Sean Durfy (born 1963) is a Canadian businessman born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Ascendant Group Limited in Bermuda, which is the parent company of Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (BELCO). Durfy is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of WestJet and was responsible for the day-to-day operations of Canada's second largest airline. Durfy joined WestJet in 2004 as Executive Vice-President, Sales, Marketing and Airports. He became WestJet's President in 2006 and added the title of CEO in 2007. On March 15, 2010, Durfy announced that he was resigning from his position at WestJet, which included stepping down from the board of directors. He noted personal reasons for his resignation. Corner Brook ( 2021 population: 19,333 CA 29,762) is a city located on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Corner Brook is the fifth largest settlement in Newfoundland and Labrador. Located on the Bay of Islands at the mouth of the Humber River, the city is the second-largest population centre in the province behind St. John's, and smallest of three cities behind St. John's and Mount Pearl. Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (BELCO) is a Bermudian electricity-generating company. It is the country's sole supplier of electricity, operating a generating plant. transmission and distribution systems throughout the territory. It is a subsidiary of Ascendant Group Limited (AG Holdings Limited), together with Bermuda Gas, PureNERGY Renewables, and inVenture Limited. BELCO's two generating stations are fueled by heavy fuel oil and diesel, all of which is imported.
