Massimo Troisi
Massimo Troisi (; 19 February 1953 – 4 June 1994) was an Italian actor, cabaret performer, screenwriter, and film director. He is best known for his works in the films '' I'm Starting from Three'' (1981) and '' Il Postino: The Postman'' (1994), for which he was posthumously nominated for two Oscars. Nicknamed "the comedian of feelings," he is considered one of the most important actors of Italian theater and cinema. Giuliana De Sio (born 2 April 1956) is an Italian actress, the younger sister of pop-folk singer Teresa De Sio. She won two David di Donatello for Best Actress and different Silver Ribbons for Best Actress. Biography and career Giuliana De Sio was born in Salerno and grew up in Cava de' Tirreni, where her family is originally from. De Sio's first public appearance was when she was five years old in a show at Teatro Verdi in Salerno. Raffaele "Lello" Arena (born 1 November 1953) is an Italian actor and comics writer. He was also an occasional film director and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Naples as Raffaele Arena, he was the son of two workers in a tobacco factory. In 1969, at a very young age, Arena formed the cabaret ensamble "La Smorfia" together with Massimo Troisi and Enzo Decaro. In 1978 and 1979, the group appeared in two RAI variety shows (''Non stop'' and ''Luna Park'') obtaining a great success. The group disbanded in 1980 and for some time Arena kept on collaborating with his friend Troisi, starring in his three first films.
