Scrosoppi FC is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in Milton, Ontario that plays in League1 Ontario. The club is named after St. Luigi Scrosoppi, who is the patron saint of footballers. History The club was founded in 2020, partnering with youth soccer clubs Milton Youth SC and Brampton SC. (As of 2022, Brampton SC no longer appears to be a partner club of Scrosoppi.) The name was chosen in honour of St. Luigi Scrosoppi, who is the patron saint of footballers. The club joined League1 Ontario for the 2021 season. Their home field in their inaugural season is Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School in Milton. They finished their inaugural season in fourth place in the Western Conference and also recorded their largest victory in team history that season, when they defeated Sigma FC by a score of 10-1. Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School
Bishop Paul Francis Reding Secondary School is a coeducational Catholic Secondary School in Milton, Ontario, Canada. The school offers grades nine through twelve and is run by the Halton Catholic District School Board. History Bishop Reding, commonly called BR, was founded in 1986. Its namesake is Bishop Paul Francis Reding, Bishop of the Hamilton Diocese for ten years and an ardent defender of Catholic education. The school was the first Catholic high school for Northern Halton. In 1994, the school participated in a 25-year HCDSB time capsule project, opened in 2019. In 2002, many of Bishop Reding's students were transferred to the new school in Halton Hills, Christ the King Catholic Secondary School, a change commemorated with a plaque in the BR Trophy Case. Nicolás Galvis Llano (born 9 April 1997) is a professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Scrosoppi FC in League1 Ontario. Born in Colombia and raised in Canada, he has previously accepted call-ups to the Canada national team. Early life Galvis was born in Bogotá, Colombia and lived with his family in Manizales and began playing soccer at age five with Once Caldas. At the age of seven, his family moved to St. Catharines, Canada, where he began playing with St. Catharines Concord SC. David Velastegui (born April 1, 1991) is a Canadian professional soccer player. Club career Velastegui signed with Brampton United in the Canadian Soccer League (CSL), he was a regular starter playing in all 23 match fixtures and being recognized as one of the top young talents of the league. David spent four years at Sheridan College, where he captained the team to win its first ever Canadian National Championship and received the CCAA All-Canadian award, being recognized as the top player in the country. Cyrus Kamron Rollocks (born 23 March 1998) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for League1 Ontario club Scrosoppi FC. Club career In 2015, Rollocks played for Toronto FC Academy in League1 Ontario, finishing fourth in league scoring with fourteen goals. Early life Halley played youth soccer with the Woodbridge Strikers and Erin Mills SC. 2022 League1 Ontario Season
The 2022 Men's League1 Ontario season was the eighth season of play for League1 Ontario, a Division 3 men's soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. Vaughan Azzurri defeated Blue Devils FC in the final to win the league championship and qualified for the 2023 Canadian Championship. Guelph United F.C. represented the league in the 2022 Canadian Championship, as they were the 2021 league champions. Format and changes The league returned to a single table format for the 2022 season with each team playing 21 games, following the 2021 season which was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kyle Neville Porter (born January 19, 1990) is a Canadian professional soccer player for Blue Devils FC in League1 Ontario.
