Scott Prestwidge
Scott Arthur Prestwidge (born 15 May 1968 in Bankstown, New South Wales), is a retired Australian cricketer who played for the Queensland Bulls in Australian domestic cricket. He was an all-rounder who bowled right arm fast medium, and was one of his country's inaugural inductees of the Australian Cricket Academy when it opened in 1988. Prestwidge played one day cricket for Queensland between 1991/92 and 2000/01 and for the latter part of his career was a regular in the side. During that period he played only 3 first class games. He was awarded the man of the match award in his side's Mercantile Mutual Cup Final victory in 1997–98. He was also a winner of the Peter Burge Medal, given to the best player of the season in Brisbane grade cricket. Bankstown, New South Wales
Bankstown is a suburb south west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 16 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district and is located in the local government area of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, having previously been the administrative centre of the City of Bankstown prior to 2016. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Australian Cricket Academy
The Australian Cricket Academy was founded in 1987 as a joint initiative of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the Australian Cricket Board (ACB). It was initially located at Henley Beach in Adelaide before moving to the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, Queensland in 2004 and renamed the "Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence". It was designed to be a finishing school for leading young cricketers and is a program within the AIS. Mercantile Mutual Cup
The One-Day Cup, known as the Marsh One-Day Cup for sponsorship reasons, is an Australian domestic List A 50-over limited-overs cricket tournament. It has had many different names, formats and teams since the inaugural 1969-1970 season. Initially a knockout cup, the competition now features a single round-robin followed by a finals series. The tournament is contested between teams representing the six states of Australia, who also compete in the first-class Sheffield Shield. Jack Prestwidge (born 28 February 1996) is an Australian cricketer. He made his List A debut for Queensland in the 2018–19 JLT One-Day Cup on 22 September 2018. He made his Twenty20 debut for the Brisbane Heat in the 2018–19 Big Bash League season on 17 January 2019. Will Prestwidge (born 15 January 2002) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a bowler. In May 2021, along with fellow player James Bazley, Prestwidge was awarded with a rookie contract with the Queensland cricket team ahead of the 2021-22 domestic cricket season in Australia. Prestwidge also represents the Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club in Queensland Premier Cricket. The Brisbane Heat (WBBL) are an Australian women's Twenty20 cricket team based in Albion, Queensland. The Heat compete in the Women's Big Bash League and have won two championships, winning back-to-back titles across WBBL04 and WBBL05. Georgia Kate Prestwidge (born 17 December 1997) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-arm medium bowler and right-handed batter for Queensland Fire in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and Melbourne Renegades in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
