Schwarzenbach is a town in the Wiener Neustadt-Land district, Lower Austria, Austria. 48.22 percent of the municipality is forested. The area is divided into two districts: Schwarzenbach and Schwarzenbach (Zerstreut), the latter comprising the scattered settlements around the main village. There are 33 non-agricultural companies. 463 persons are employed. The activity rate in 2001 was 41.34%. Population History An old Celtic settlement dating back to the 1st and the 2nd centuries has been excavated since 1992. The findings there show that the community was of great social and political importance. Črna na Koroškem (; german: Schwarzenbach) is a town in northern Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Črna na Koroškem. It lies in the traditional Slovenian province of Carinthia, close to the border with Austria. Since 2005 it has been part of the larger Carinthia Statistical Region. Name The settlement was first attested in written sources in 1309 under the German name ''Swarzenpach'' (and as ''Swartzenpach'' in 1318 and ''Swarczenpach'' in 1470)—all literally 'black creek'. The Slovene name ''Črna'' (literally, 'black') arose through ellipsis from ''*Črna (voda/reka)'' 'Black Creek'. The designation "black" may have referred to water with dark silt, water that flowed through a spruce woods, or deep water with no visible bottom. Jonschwil is a municipality in the ''Wahlkreis'' (constituency) of Wil in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. History Jonschwil was first mentioned in 796 as ''Johannisvilare''. In 1282 it was mentioned as ''Jonswiler''. The village of Schwarzenbach was first mentioned in 779, and the hamlet of Bettenau was mentioned in 772 as ''Betinauvia''. Huttwil is a municipality in the Oberaargau administrative district in the Swiss canton of Bern. History Early history Huttwil is first mentioned in the 9th Century as ''Huttiwilare''. The Huttwil area was probably first settled in the 7th or 8th century, though it first appears in historic records in the 9th century. Initially it was part of the Upper Aargau lands of the Adalgoze family, though by the 11th and 12th centuries the Counts of Rheinfelden and Fenis-Neuchâtel owned land and rights in Huttwil. In the 12th century Fenis-Neuchâtel donated their Huttwil lands to Erlach Abbey.
