Schumach
Christian Schumach (born 17 September 1981 in Murau) is an Austrian dressage rider. He represented Austria at the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games, 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France, where he finished 8th in team dressage and 64th in the Individual dressage at the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games, individual dressage competition. He also represented Austria at the 2017 FEI European Dressage Championships. In 2021, he was selected by the Austrian Equestrian Federation (OEPS) to represent Austria at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Olympic Games in Tokyo, he finished 21st in individual dressage. Individual Dressage At The 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games
The individual dressage at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy was held at Stade Michel d'Ornano from 25 to 29 August. Great Britain's Charlotte Dujardin won gold medal in both Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle while Helen Langehanenberg won silver medal in both events for Germany. The bronze in Special was won by Kristina Sprehe of Germany while the bronze in Freestyle went to Adelinde Cornelissen representing the Netherlands. Competition format The team and individual dressage competitions used the same results. Dressage had three phases. The first phase was the Grand Prix. Top 30 individuals advanced to the second phase, the Grand Prix Special where the first individual medals were awarded. The last set of medals in dressage at the 2014 World Equestrian Games was awarded after the third phase, the Grand Prix Freestyle where top 15 combinations competed. Murau
Murau is a town in the western part of the Austrian federal state of Styria. It is the administrative seat of Murau District. Geography The historic town is located in mountainous Upper Styria in the valley of the Mur river between the Lower Tauern range and the Gurktal Alps. The municipal area comprises the cadastral communities of Laßnitz-Lambrecht, Murau proper and Sankt Egidi, as well as the former independent municipalities of Laßnitz bei Murau, Stolzalpe and Triebendorf which were incorporated in the course of a 2015 administrative reform.
