Hubert Schoemaker
Hubert Jacob Paul Schoemaker (March 23, 1950 – January 1, 2006) was a Dutch biotechnologist. He was a co-founder and the president of one of America's first biotechnology companies, Centocor, which was founded in 1979 for the commercialising of monoclonal antibodies. In 1999 he founded Neuronyx, Inc., for the manufacture of stem cells and the development of stem-cell therapies. Early life and education Schoemaker was born in Deventer, Netherlands. He attended St. Bernardus School in Deventer, and Canisius College, Nijmegen. Charles Prosper Wolff Schoemaker (25 July 1882 – 22 May 1949) was a Dutch architect who designed several distinguished Art Deco buildings in Bandung, Indonesia, including the Villa Isola and Hotel Preanger. Richard Leonard Arnold Schoemaker (5 October 1886 – 3 May 1942) was a Dutch Olympic fencer, engineer in the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army, professor of architecture at Bandung Institute of Technology and Delft University of Technology, and leader of a resistance group during World War II, for which he was executed at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Maurice Schoemaker (27 December 1890, in Anderlecht – 24 August 1964, in Etterbeek) was a Belgian composer. Certain works by his hand bear the peusonym Wil Saer. Maurice Schoemaker started his career as a self-taught composer, but subsequently went to study with Theo Ysaye (harmony), Michel Brusselmans (counterpoint), Martin Lunssens (fugue), and Paul Gilson (orchestration and composition). Schoemaker also directed the orchestra of the Antwerp Zoo from 1925, and had a prominent position at SABAM.
