Sabine Schmidtke
Sabine Schmidtke is a German academic, historian, and scholar of Islamic studies. She is Professor of Islamic Intellectual History at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Schmidtke was elected Member to the American Philosophical Society in 2017. She was appointed Corresponding Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in 2021. Education and career Schmidtke earned an undergraduate degree (''summa cum laude'') from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1986 and an M.A. from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in 1987. She got her Ph.D. from the University of Oxford in 1990. From 1991 to 1999 she was a diplomat in the German Foreign Office. From 1997 to 1999 she was a lecturer in Islamic studies at the University of Bonn and did her Habilitation while there. Claudia Schmidtke
Claudia Schmidtke (born 29 March 1966) is a German cardiologist and politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) who served as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Schleswig-Holstein from 2017 to 2021. Political career Schmidtke became a member of the Bundestag in the 2017 German federal election. She defeated Gabriele Hiller-Ohm from the SPD, becoming the first CDU MP for the seat since 1969. Alfred Schmidtke was a German New Testament scholar. As a collaborator of Hermann von Soden he worked on Greek uncial codices of the New Testament. Schmidtke travelled investigating the libraries of the monasteries of Albania and Macedonia on von Soden's behalf. Heinz Schmidtke (6 August 1925 – 11 December 2013) was a German ergonomist. Between 1970 and 1972, he was rector of the Technical University of Munich. Life Schmidtke studied psychology and physics at the Technical University of Braunschweig until 1949. He completed his habilitation in 1960.
