Michael Schluter
Dr. Michael Schluter CBE (born 1947), is "a social thinker, social entrepreneur and founder of Britain's Relationships Foundation." After gaining his Ph.D. from Cornell University, Schulter worked as an applied economist with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the World Bank. Along with colleagues in the field, he has founded a variety of international NGOs focused on public policy, food security, and peace-building initiatives. Schluter is currently president and CEO of Relational Peacebuilding Initiatives. In recognition of his public service, he was appointed CBE by the Queen in the New Year Honours List 2009. Dolph Schluter (born May 22, 1955) is a Canadian professor of Evolutionary Biology and a Canada Research Chair in the Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia. Schluter is a major researcher in adaptive radiation and currently studies speciation in the three-spined stickleback, ''Gasterosteus aculeatus''. Schluter received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in 1977, and his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Michigan in 1983, both in Ecology and Evolution. Schluter's early research was done on the evolutionary ecology and morphology of Darwin's finches. Schluter is the author of ''The Ecology of Adaptive Radiation'', 2000, Oxford University Press, and ''The Analysis of Biological Data'', 2009 (and 2015), with Michael Whitlock, and an editor with Robert E. John Schluter (born 1955) is an Australian journalist and weather presenter. Schluter currently presents a weekly "Flashback" report and is a fill-in weather presenter on ''Seven News'' in Brisbane. Career Nine Network Schluter presented the weather on ''National Nine News'' in Brisbane for nearly 25 years; he ended his affiliation with the Nine Network in September 2006. In the late 1980s, Schluter did voice-over work for Brisbane Ten (TVQ-0/10) but returned to Nine. He was subsequently replaced by weekend weather presenter Joseph May. Albert Schluter
Albert Christian Schlüter OAM (15 November 1923 - 27 March 2007) was a German-born Australian activist for immigrant rights in Australia. Schlüter was born in Hamburg, Germany, the oldest of 3 children. His father, Heinrich Schlüter, was a German army officer who was killed during World War II at the age of 41. His wife, Margarethe was left to raise 3 children, Albert, Heinz and Monja. Schlüter followed in his father's footsteps and enlisted in the German Army at the beginning of WW2 and rose to the rank of lieutenant. He was twice decorated with the Iron Cross and luckily survived after a bullet wound to the arm allowed a timely exit from the Eastern Front. He immigrated to Australia in 1951 to live with his uncle and aunt in Sydney. Some years later he travelled to Tasmania on a holiday and soon took up residence and married Kathleen Round (4 January 1933 - 12 September 2021) on Anzac Day, 1957.
