Schimatari
Schimatari () is a town and a former municipality in Boeotia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Tanagra, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 38.285 km2. It is situated in the wide valley of the river Asopos, at 6 km from the South Euboean Gulf coast. The A1 motorway (Athens - Lamia - Thessaloniki) passes north of Schimatari. Schimatari is located 13 km south of Chalcis, 23 km east of Thebes and 43 km north-northwest of Athens. The Tanagra Airport lies to the south. An agricultural settlement until the 1980s, its proximity to Athens has led to a significant growth in industrial activities and population. Subdivisions The municipal unit Schimatari consists of one single community Schimatari, which contains the villages Oinoi and Schimatari. Tanagra () is a town and a municipality north of Athens in Boeotia, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Schimatari. It is not far from Thebes, and it was noted in antiquity for the figurines named after it. The Tanagra figurines were a mass-produced, mold-cast and fired type of Greek terracotta figurine produced from the later fourth century BC, primarily in Tanagra. Oinoi () is a village in Boeotia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Tanagra, and the municipal unit of Schimatari. Population 855 (2021). It is situated in the wide valley of the river Asopos, at 6 km from the South Euboean Gulf coast. It is situated about 3 km southeast of Schimatari, 26 km east of Thebes and 41 km north-northwest of Athens. Transport Road The A1 motorway (Athens - Lamia - Thessaloniki) passes northeast of Oinoi. Ennistymon or Ennistimon () is a country market town in County Clare, near the west coast of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The Inagh River, River Inagh, with its small rapids known as the Cascades, runs through the town, behind the main street. A bridge across the river leads to nearby Lahinch.
