''Schefflerodendron'' is a genus of flowering plants in the family Fabaceae. It includes four species of trees native to tropical Africa, ranging from Cameroon to Tanzania and Angola. They grow in tropical rain forest and seasonally-dry forest, including disturbed areas. Three species are native to the Guineo-Congolian forests of west-central Africa, and one species (''Schefflerodendron usambarense, S. usambarense'') also extends to the Northern Zanzibar-Inhambane coastal forest mosaic, Zanzibar-Inhambane coastal forests of Tanzania. Hermann Harms
Hermann August Theodor Harms (16 July 1870 – 27 November 1942) was a German taxonomist and botanist. Harms was born in Berlin. He worked as a botanist at the Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum, Botanical Museum in Berlin. He was a member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences. He died in Berlin, aged 52. He was longtime editor of Adolf Engler's "''Das Pflanzenreich''", and was the author of several chapters on various plant families in Engler and Carl Prantl, Prantl's "''Die Natürlichen Pflanzenfamilien''", including the chapters on Bromeliaceae (1930) and Nepenthaceae (1936). The Guineo-Congolian region is a biogeographical region in Africa straddling the Equator and stretching from the Atlantic Ocean through the Congo Basin to the Congo / Nile divide in Rwanda and Burundi. Plants of the World Online (POWO) is an online database published by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. It was launched in March 2017 with the ultimate aim being "to enable users to access information on all the world's known seed-bearing plants by 2020".
