Schalk Ferreira
Schalk Jakobus Petrus Ferreira (born 9 February 1984) is a South African rugby union player for the in the Pro14. He has been playing first rugby since 2005 and normally plays as a loosehead prop. Rugby career Youth rugby Ferreira was born in Pretoria, where he also attended primary school, before moving to the Western Cape, where he attended Stellenbosch-based high school Paul Roos Gymnasium. He was included in various representative teams during his school days, representing them at Under-16 level in 2000 and playing at the premier South African schools competition, the Under-18 Craven Week on two occasions – in 2001 for a Coastal Western Province combination side and in 2002 for Western Province. After the 2002, he was also included in a South African Schools squad that played matches against their French and Welsh counterparts. Witbank
Witbank (), officially Emalahleni, is a city situated on the Highveld of Mpumalanga, South Africa, within the Emalahleni Local Municipality. The name Witbank is Afrikaans for "white ridge", and is named after a white sandstone outcrop where wagon transport drivers rested. The city is known for its coal-mining in the surrounding region. Witbank was renamed to Emalahleni meaning the ''place of coal'' in 2006 by the government of Mpumalanga, matching the municipality. The 2009 Absa Currie Cup Premier Division season was the 71st season in the competition since it started in 1889. The competition was contested from 10 July through to 31 October. It was won by the Blue Bulls, who defeated the Free State Cheetahs 36-24 in the final at Loftus Versfeld. The Boland Cavaliers, who finished bottom of the Premier Division, were relegated after losing their promotion-relegation playoff to the First Division Champions, the Pumas, while the Leopards, who finished second from bottom in the Premier Division, narrowly retained their place in the top division after defeating the South Western District Eagles in the other playoff. 2009 Vodacom Cup
The 2009 Vodacom Cup was the 12th edition of this annual domestic cup competition. The Vodacom Cup is played between province, provincial rugby union teams in South Africa from the Currie Cup Premier and First Divisions. Competition There were 14 teams participating in the 2009 Vodacom Cup competition. These teams were geographically divided into two sections - the Northern Section and the Southern Section, each with seven teams. Teams would play all the teams in their section once over the course of the season, either at home or away. Teams received four points for a win and two points for a draw. Bonus points were awarded to teams that score four or more tries in a game, as well as to teams losing a match by seven points or less.
