Sazmanab Center For Contemporary Art
Sazmanab ( fa, سازمان آب) is a curatorial project which originally started as an artist-run space and residency program in Tehran, Iran, in 2008. Sazmanab supported artistic work in a wide range of media through exhibitions and events, residencies for artists and curators, workshops, talks, and other events. History Sazmanab Platform for Contemporary Arts Sazmanab was founded in 2008 by artist-curator Sohrab Kashani. From 2008 to 2014, Sazmanab was located in an apartment in north-west of Tehran, inside Sazman-e Ab street and directly across the Tehran’s Department of Water for the Sadeghiyeh district. Sohrab Kashani ( fa, سهراب کاشانی) is an Iranian artist and contemporary art curator. Work as artist Super Sohrab (2009-present) Super Sohrab, Kashani’s alter-ego is a superhero who utilises satire and failure in their attempts to navigate the everyday challenges of daily life. Through the documentation of some of their own life events and their own failures, Super Sohrab addresses local and global socio-political problems. Mattress Factory
The Mattress Factory is a contemporary art museum located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was a pioneer of site-specific installation art and features permanent installations by artists Yayoi Kusama, James Turrell, and Greer Lankton. The museum's roof itself is a light art installation and part of Pittsburgh's Northside evening skyline. Barbara Luderowski purchased a derelict Stearns & Foster mattress warehouse in 1975. Jon Rubin is a contemporary artist based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Projects Fruit and Other Things ''Fruit and Other Things'' (2018-2019) is a project created in collaboration with artist Lenka Clayton commissioned by the Carnegie Museum of Art for the 2018 iteration of the Carnegie International. The project pulls from the specific context and history of the Carnegie International, which in its earliest years, selected artworks for its exhibitions from an international competition. From 1896 to 1931, artists submitted artworks to be considered for the exhibition, and the museum kept not only detailed records of the accepted works, but of those that were rejected as well.
