Syed Ahmed Khan
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan KCSI (17 October 1817 – 27 March 1898; also Sayyid Ahmad Khan) was an Indian Muslim reformer, philosopher, and educationist in nineteenth-century British India. Though initially espousing Hindu-Muslim unity, he became the pioneer of Muslim nationalism in India and is widely credited as the father of the two-nation theory, which formed the basis of the Pakistan movement. Born into a family with strong debts to the Mughal court, Ahmad studied the Quran and Sciences within the court. He was awarded an honorary LLD from the University of Edinburgh in 1889. In 1838, Syed Ahmad entered the service of East India Company and went on to become a judge at a Small Causes Court in 1867, retiring from 1876. Syed Rashid Ali ( ur, سید راشد علی; born 1 January 1975) is a former Danish cricketer. He is of Pakistani descent. Ali played two matches for Denmark Under-19s against Bermuda Under-19s and Ireland Under-19s in Canada in 1991. He made his Lisr A debut for Denmark in English domestic cricket's 2005 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy against Northamptonshire at Svanholm Park, Brøndby. Opening the batting with Mickey Lund, Ali was dismissed for 8 runs by Charl Pietersen, one of his seven wickets, with Denmark being dismissed for just 56. Their first-class county opponents won the match by 8 wickets. Later in 2005, he was selected in Denmark's squad for the ICC Trophy in Ireland, with the matches in the tournament having List A status. Syed Nomanul Haq (Nu'man al-Haqq) ( ur, ; born February 15, 1948 in Karachi, Pakistan) is a Pakistani scholar and historian specialised in the fields of Islamic history and Islamic philosophy. He is currently a visiting distinguished professor at the Habib University, Karachi. Life and career Haq was born in Pakistan, but spent most of his early life in England and the USA. At Hull University he received an undergraduate degree in applied physics and at University College London he studied the history of science and philosophy. Syed Mujtaba Ali ( bn, সৈয়দ মুজতবা আলী; 13 September 1904 – 11 February 1974) was a Bengali writer, journalist, travel enthusiast, academic, scholar and linguist. He lived in Bangladesh, India, Germany, Afghanistan and Egypt. Early life and education Ali was born on 13 September 1904 to a Bengali Muslim family in Karimganj, Sylhet district, British Raj. His father, Khan Bahadur Syed Sikander Ali, was a sub-registrar. Syed Masood is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Marc Elliott, and first appeared on screen on 21 April 2009. Syed Manzoorul Islam (born 18 January 1951) is a Bangladeshi critic, writer and a former professor of University of Dhaka, Dhaka University. Syed Mahmud (1889–1971) was an Indian politician and senior leader in the Indian National Congress during the Indian independence movement and in post-independence India. He was a member of the foundation committee of Jamia Millia Islamia. Early life Syed Mahmud was born in the village of India. He was educated at the Aligarh Muslim University.
