Savino Pezzotta (born 25 December 1943) is an Italian politician and trade unionist. Trade unionist Pezzotta was a textile worker since 1959. In 1963, he joined the Italian Confederation of Workers' Trade Unions (CISL) and later became a trade union organizer. In 1972, he joined the Workers' Political Movement, a group of progressive left-wing Catholics, and was a candidate for the Movement in the general election of 1972, obtaining 117 votes. After the small movement disappeared, he dedicated himself to trade union activity. From 1993 to 1998, he was regional secretary of the CISL in Lombardy. In 1999, he joined the union's national leadership, and was elected its secretary-general one year later. He resigned this post after the general elections of 2006. Savino Guglielmetti
Savino Guglielmetti (26 November 1911 – 23 January 2006) was an Italian gymnast. He competed at the 1932, 1936 and 1948 Olympics and won two gold medals in 1932. Biography A taxi ran over Guglielmetti when he was a child, but he escaped unharmed. He later fell from a four-story building, but managed to cling on power cables and survived. Originally a pole vaulter, he joined a gymnastics club in 1927, where he was coached by Mario Corrias. Three years later he became a member of the national team. Although he won two Olympic gold medals in 1932, he faced a strong competition in Italy, and won his first national all-around title only in 1934. He defended it in 1935, 1937, 1938 and 1939. Savino Selo (; hu, Torzsa), formerly Torschau / Torszà / Torša, is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the municipality of Vrbas, in the South Bačka District, Vojvodina province. History A settlement named Torsza was first mentioned in 1486. After the Turkish wars had ended by the late 17th century, the Bačka was widely deserted. During the reign of Emperor Josef II it was being repopulated by mostly Rhinehessian families, called Švabo (Danube Swabians) by their Serbian and Slovak neighbours.
