Sauber C22
The Sauber C22 was the Formula One car that Sauber, Sauber Petronas used to compete in the 2003 Formula One season. The C22 was driven by Nick Heidfeld, now in his third season with Sauber and was paired with experienced former Williams Grand Prix Engineering, Williams and Jordan Grand Prix driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who had deputised for Felipe Massa at the 2002 United States Grand Prix. Massa departed the team to join Ferrari as a test driver. Swiss driver Neel Jani was signed as a test driver for the 2003 season helping develop the C22. Overview The C22 was the third car designed by Willy Rampf for the Sauber team. Initial designs for the C22 were completed as early as May 2002. Nick Lars Heidfeld (born 10 May 1977) is a German professional racing driver. Despite scoring regular podium finishes in with Williams Grand Prix Engineering, Williams, and in and with BMW in Formula One, BMW Sauber, Heidfeld never won a race after debuting in Formula One in . Heidfeld currently holds two Formula One records; most podium finishes without a Grand Prix win (13), and the most second-place finishes without a win (8). Willy Rampf
Willy Rampf (born 20 June 1953) is a German car engineer who is currently a technical consultant for Williams Racing and was the former technical director of the Sauber Formula One team. Career Rampf was born in Maria Thalheim, studied Automotive Engineering at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, and has worked as a development engineer for BMW since 1979. From 1989 to 1993, Rampf worked for BMW in South Africa, where he discovered Formula One. The Sauber team made its debut in Formula One at the South African Grand Prix in 1993. Rampf was invited to the race, and half a year later he signed a contract to become race engineer for the Sauber team. Rampf was the engineer of Sauber driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen for three years. Neel Jani (born 8 December 1983) is a Swiss professional Porsche factory driver. His father is from India and his mother is German Swiss. He achieved his greatest success winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016 after first joining Porsche's LMP1 programme for the 2014 season driving in the WEC. Jordan Grand Prix was a Formula One constructor that competed from 1991 to 2005. The team was named after Irish businessman and founder Eddie Jordan.
