Highway 918 is a provincial highway in the north-west and far north regions of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It runs from Highway 165 near Beauval to Patuanak. Beauval, Saskatchewan
Beauval, Saskatchewan is a northern village located in Northern Saskatchewan, near Lac Île-à-la-Crosse. It was founded in the early 20th century as a Roman Catholic mission and as a transportation centre. Highway 165 goes through the community. Highway 918 three kilometres east leads north to Patuanak. Eight kilometres east is the hamlet of Lac La Plonge on Lac La Plonge. Eight kilometres west where Highway 165 joins Highway 155 is Beauval Forks. The Beauval Airport along with several businesses are located there. Beauval is situated in the valley of the Beaver River hence the name "beautiful valley" or "beau val" in French. The population of Beauval was 756 in 2011. History The earliest known settler was Philip Yew who arrived in 1905, by 1907, others have arrived, mainly from Dore Lake. Patuanak, Saskatchewan
Patuanak is a community in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. It is the administrative headquarters of the Dene First Nations reserve near Churchill River and the north end of Lac Île-à-la-Crosse. In Dene, it sounds similar to ''Boni Cheri'' (Bëghą́nı̨ch’ërë). The community consists of the Northern Hamlet of Patuanak with 64 residents governed by a Mayor and 2 councillors and the adjoining Wapachewunak 192D reserve of the English River First Nation with 482 residents (Canada Census 2011). The reserve is governed by a Chief and six councillors. Patuanak is about 92 km (57 mi.) north of Beauval at the end of Highway 918. History Patuanak is located west of the Shagwenaw Rapids on the Churchill River. Highway 165 is a provincial gravel highway in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It runs from Highway 155 to Highway 106. Highway 165 is about long. Highway 165 runs west to east parallel to the boundary of the Pre-Cambrian shield in northern Saskatchewan. The highway skirts around the southern shores of Pinehouse Lake and Lac la Ronge (lake).
