Sasha Gradiva
Sasha Mikhailovna Antonova (russian: Саша Михайловна Антонова; born 5 February 1979), better known by her stage name Sasha Gradiva, is a Russian-born American singer, songwriter, producer and performing artist. Her music is a blend of pop dance with infusions of electronica. She began her professional career at the age of 16, and has gained recognition within the European music scene, on MTV and in the Russian music industry. Making a transition to the US music scene, Sasha attracted press attention when attending at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. Gradiva met American producer Tricky Stewart and soon after released her first US single "Wanted". It was co-written with Justin Tranter of Semi Precious Weapons and produced by Stewart and Norwegian producer Axident. She has gained recognition within the club dance scene and has been referred to by Hot Spot Magazine and Gay Pride as "one of the most promising artists in the mainstream US music scene." Career ... Nadezhda Georgievna Babkina (russian: Надежда Георгиевна Бабкина; born 19 March 1950) is а Soviet and Russian folk and pop singer. In 1992 she was named a People's Artist of the RSFSR. The ''Gradiva, The woman who walks,'' is a modern 20th century mythological figure from the novella '' Gradiva'' by Wilhelm Jensen. The figure was inspired by a real Roman relief. Origins ''Gradiva'' was given her name by Wilhelm Jensen's novella of the same name. In the novella, the protagonist is fascinated by a female figure in an antcient relief and names her "Gradiva" after Mars Gradivus, the Roman god of war walking into battle. Description The actual relief was described by Hauser as a neo-Attic Roman relief probably after a Greek original from the fourth century BCE. It shows in its complete state the three Agraulides sisters, Herse, Pandrosus and Aglaulos, deities of the dew. Hauser reconstructed the Agraulid-relief from fragments scattered over various museum collections. Semi Precious Weapons was an American rock band from New York City, New York, United States, consisting of Justin Tranter on vocals, Stevy Pyne on guitar, Cole Whittle on bass and Dan Crean on drums. In biology, a reflex, or reflex action, is an involuntary, unplanned sequence or action and nearly instantaneous response to a stimulus. Reflexes are found with varying levels of complexity in organisms with a nervous system. A reflex occurs via neural pathways in the nervous system called reflex arcs. A stimulus initiates a neural signal, which is carried to a synapse. The signal is then transferred across the synapse to a motor neuron which evokes a target response. These neural signals do not always travel to the brain, so many reflexes are an automatic response to a stimulus that does not receive or need conscious thought.
