Olga Moraes Sarmento da Silveira (née Maria Olga de Moraes Sarmento da Silveira; known also as, Olga Morais Sarmento; 26 May 1881 – 17 October 1948) was a Portuguese writer and feminist. Early years Maria Olga de Moraes Sarmento da Silveira was born in Setúbal, 26 May 1881. She was a daughter and granddaughter of military men, spending part of her childhood in Elvas, where she became a friend of Virgínia Quaresma. She married a Navy physician when she was 16, who died shortly afterwards in combat, in Cuamato, Angola. Matthew Brandon Sarmento (born June 23, 1991) is a Canadian field hockey player, who plays as a forward for the Canada men's national field hockey team, Canadian national team. José Manuel Sarmento de Beires (4 September 1892 – 8 June 1974) was a Portuguese Army officer and an aviation pioneer. Sarmento de Beires became famous for piloting the first night-time aerial crossing of the Atlantic, in April 1927. The first night-time flight over the South Atlantic The first night aerial crossing over the South Atlantic (and part of North Atlantic) was going to be made in a Portuguese Army Aviation Dornier Do J Wal metallic seaplane, with two Lorraine-Dietrich 450 hp engines, baptised as ''Argos''. The ''Argos'' crew included Sarmento de Beires (pilot), Duvalle Portugal ( co-pilot), Jorge de Castilho (navigator) and Manuel Gouveia (mechanic). Maria do Céu Sarmento Pina da Costa (born 14 April 1968 in Dili, Portuguese Timor) is an East Timorese doctor, academic and politician. From 2015 to 2017, she was Minister of Health.
