Sarajevo Youth Film Festival
The Sarajevo Youth Film Festival ( bs, Omladinski Film Festival Sarajevo / Омладински Филм Фестивал Сарајево), also known as OFF Sarajevo, is an annual film festival held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is held in September and showcases an extensive variety of feature, animated and short films from around the world. The main focus of the festival is on promoting young film directors and producers, student films and youth-themed films. OFF Sarajevo is considered to be one of the premium student film festivals in the Balkans. The Balkans ( ), also known as the Balkan Peninsula, is a geographical area in southeastern Europe with various geographical and historical definitions. Žuta Tabija
The Yellow Fortress or Yellow Bastion ( Bosnian, Croatian and sr, Žuta Tabija, italics=yes, sr-Cyrl, Жута Табија) is a cannon fortress at the entrance of the "Walled City of Vratnik". It was built between 1727 and 1739 in area called Jekovac, close to the Jajce Barracks and the Jekovac water reservoir. It served as one of the defense points against the Austro-Hungarian troops in 1878. The fortress was damaged and rebuilt several times. The most recent renovation took place in 1998. History Of Sarajevo
This article is about the history of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ancient history The present day site of Sarajevo has a long and rich history dating back to the Stone Age. There were no people in the region in the Paleolithic era, although the remains of ancient animals have been found, including those of the ancient bear species, ''Ursus spelaeus''. Excavation for the period has never been very comprehensive, and if the Sarajevo area was indeed inhabited during the Paleolithic era, the residents were probably Neanderthals. During the neolithic era, the Sarajevo region was home to the Butmir Culture. Specifically, these people found themselves in Butmir, a satellite neighborhood of Ilidža, Sarajevo's chief suburb. The area is rich in flint, essential for making tools and weapons, and was attractive to ancient man, as was the Željeznica river which flows nearby. BBI Centar
BBI Centar is a shopping mall in the center of Sarajevo. It is one of the largest shopping malls in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an area of . It was opened on April 6, 2009. The BBI Centar was built on the site where Robna kuća Sarajka, popular state-owned department store, stood during the time Bosnia and Herzegovina was part of SFR Yugoslavia. Construction was between 2006 - 2009.
