Sarajevo Disk is a record label founded and based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1978 by Hanka Paldum, Muradif Brkić and Braco Đirlo. It became inactive in 2000 and began releasing music again in September 2012. Šaban Šaulić
Šaban Šaulić ( sr-cyr, Шабан Шаулић; 6 September 1951 – 17 February 2019) was a Serbian folk singer. Renowned for his refined baritone vocals and performances characterised by emotional intensity and crowd interaction, his career spanning over five decades has enjoyed both critical and commercial success. He is referred to as the " King of Folk Music" ("''kralj narodne muzike''"). Diskoton
''Diskoton'' was a major record label in SFR Yugoslavia, based in Sarajevo, Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company ceased to exist in 1992, with the outbreak of the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The studio was destroyed along with all master recordings Background Company History Diskoton was formally established in 1972 in Sarajevo at the instigation of Asim Haverić, then an employee of the record label Beograd Disk (later to become Jugodisk). He persuaded Jovo Beatović, manager of the city public utility company Park in Sarajevo, to organize a record production company within his enterprise. Record production began in 1973 and Diskoton operated as a subsidiary of Park until 1977, when it became an independent company. Diskoton premises were located in Pionirska dolina, a popular city park and zoo maintained by the Park company. Zaim Imamović (musician)
Zaim Imamović (; 26 August 1920 – 2 February 1994) was a Bosnian sevdalinka-folk singer, accordionist and author. Biography Imamović was born into a Bosniak family in Mrkonjić Grad and after a year his family moved to Travnik and there he lived for fifteen years when, in 1936, he moved to Sarajevo. He lived in Sarajevo for the rest of his life occasionally vacationing in Počitelj where he had a cottage. In Sarajevo he attended textile school and was discovered by a choir leader Cvjetko Rihtman in the cultural society "Gajret" where his sister Đula and his brother Hadžo also sang. When Radio Sarajevo became operational following the liberation of Sarajevo in April 1945, he started performing on and became an employee of Radio Sarajevo, often sleeping under the piano overnight so not to miss the morning telecast. Vatreni Poljubac
Vatreni Poljubac (trans. "''Fiery Kiss''") is a Bosnian and Yugoslav hard rock / heavy metal band, formed in 1977 by composer, lyricist, vocalist and guitarist Milić Vukašinović. The band is widely considered to be regional pioneers of the heavy metal genre and one of the most important rock bands of Sarajevo and former Yugoslavia pop-rock scene. In almost 40 years since its founding, the band has released 9 studio albums, the latest being 2011 reunion release ''Kad svira rock 'n' roll'', two singles and several compilation albums. Toma Zdravković
Tomislav "Toma" Zdravković (; 20 November 1938 – 30 September 1991) was a Serbian pop-folk singer-songwriter and recording artist. Zdravković was an outstanding figure on the Serbian folk scene; a true bohemian and a poet, he lived up to his sad songs. The songs, although having the form of Serbian folk music, had the spirit of chansons. He had a characteristic baritone vocal, not too powerful but warm, resembling that of Charles Aznavour. The violin underlined the melancholic atmosphere in most songs. Most of the lyrics were written by Zdravković, devoted to unfortunate love, and love-suffering while drinking and singing in omnipresent kafanas. He was married four times. Neda Ukraden ( sr-Cyrl, Неда Украден; born 16 August 1950) is a Serbs of Croatia, Serbian-Croatian singer. Her professional career stretches back to 1967. Personal life Ukraden was born in Glavina Donja, a village near the small Socialist Republic of Croatia, Croatian town of Imotski, to Serbs of Croatia, Serb parents Anđelija (1924–2018) and Dušan Ukraden (1927–1997).
