Sarah MacIntosh
Dame Sarah MacIntosh (born 7 August 1969) is a British diplomat who is the Deputy National Security Adviser for International Affairs. She previously served as High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Ambassador to Liberia and British Ambassador to NATO from 2017 to 2022. Biography MacIntosh joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1991 and served at the UK missions to the UN in New York and Vienna, and in the British embassy in Madrid. She was strategy coordinator for the UN mission in Kosovo 2004–05, and High Commissioner to Sierra Leone (and non-resident Ambassador to Liberia) 2006–08. She then took a fellowship at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University 2008–09. She was Director, Strategic Finance at the FCO 2009–11, Director, Defence and International Security 2011–14, and Director General, Defence and Intelligence 2014–16. Adam Thomson (diplomat)
Sir Adam McClure Thomson (born 1 July 1955) is a former British diplomat who is director of the European Leadership Network, a pan-European think tank based in London. He served as Permanent Representative to NATO between 2014 and 2016. Education Adam McClure Thomson was educated at King's College School, Cambridge, Westminster School, Trinity College, Cambridge and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Career He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1978 and served in Moscow, Brussels, Washington, D.C. and New Delhi as well as at the FCO in London. Weatherhead Center For International Affairs
A weatherhead, also called a weathercap, service head, service entrance cap, or gooseneck (slang) is a weatherproof service drop entry point where overhead power or telephone wires enter a building, or where wires transition between overhead and underground cables. At a building the wires enter a conduit, a protective metal pipe, and the weatherhead is a waterproof cap on the end of the conduit that allows the wires to enter without letting in water. It is shaped like a hood, with the surface where the wires enter facing down at an angle of at least 45°, to shield it from precipitation. A rubberized gasket makes for a tight seal against the wires. Before they enter the weatherhead, a ''drip loop'' is left in the overhead wires, which permits rain water that collects on the wires to drip off before reaching the weatherhead.
