Sarah Browne
Sarah Browne is a Contemporary art, contemporary Irish people, Irish artist who works in public art, performance, sculpture, and collaboration. She represented Ireland with a collaborator at the 2009 Venice Biennale. Work The Arts Council (Ireland), Arts Council of Ireland describes her as "an artist whose practice is concerned with non-verbal, bodily experiences of knowledge and justice." Browne's "research-based practice investigates the materiality of knowledge, attending to the intersection of invisible structures of power with bodily experience". Career Browne has worked for many years collaboratively with Gareth Kennedy under the name Kennedy Browne. Contemporary art is the art of today, produced in the second half of the 20th century or in the 21st century. Contemporary artists work in a globally influenced, culturally diverse, and technologically advancing world. Limerick City Gallery Of Art
Limerick City Gallery of Art (LCGA; ga, Gailearaí Ealaíon Chathair Luimní) is an art museum in the city of Limerick, Ireland. It is run by Limerick City Council and is located in Pery Square, in the Newtown Pery area of the city. The gallery is housed in a Romanesque Revival building which was constructed in 1906 as a Carnegie library and museum. The Limerick City Collection of Art was established in 1936; it has since taken over the Carnegie building and expanded into a purpose-built extension. The permanent collection includes 18th, 19th, and 20th century Irish artworks. The gallery also holds regular temporary exhibitions of contemporary works, and has been one of the primary venues for EVA International, the Irish biennial of contemporary art. EVA International (previously known as Limerick Exhibition of Visual Art and e v + a) is a large-scale contemporary art exhibition that takes place every two years in the city of Limerick, Republic of Ireland. It is known as Ireland's biennial, and is held in even-numbered years. National College Of Art And Design
The National College of Art and Design (NCAD) is Ireland's oldest art institution, offering the largest range of art and design degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the country. Originating as a drawing school in 1746, many of the most important Irish artists, designers and art educators have studied or taught in the college.
