Sarah Brown (née Bowman - born October 15, 1986) is a professional American middle distance runner. High school career Brown attended Fauquier High School in Warrenton, Virginia. She held the high school record in the mile. Sarah Bowman's 4:36.95 earned a gold medal in the mile 2005 Nike Outdoor Nationals with a time ahead of Brianna Felnagle 4:39.71. Sarah Brown is an English food writer and television cook. She presented the first vegetarian cookery show on British television. Sarah Brown opened a whole food shop in Scarborough in 1978. Two years later this evolved into a vegetarian restaurant. She appeared several times on Yorkshire Television's ''Farmhouse Kitchen''. In 1984 her successful series ''Vegetarian Kitchen'' was broadcast on BBC Two. Her book of the same name was reprinted eight times. Marie-Florentine Roger (in some sources Royer, 1869-?), better known by her English-sounding model name Sarah Brown, probably an affectation due to her Celtic-looking long red hair and pale skin, was a French artist's model famous as the "Queen of Bohemia" in 1890s Paris. Roger's arrest, along with three other well known artists' models for posing scantily clad as part of tableau vivant floats at the 1893 Bal des Quat'z'Arts in Paris' Latin Quarter, provoked one of the most famous student riots of the late nineteenth century. Roger modeled for Jules Lefebrve, Georges Rochegrosse, and Frederick MacMonnies, among many others. Sarah Brown is a transgender activist and former Liberal Democrat politician. She was the Cambridge City Councillor for Petersfield ward between 2010 and 2014, serving as Executive Councillor for Community Wellbeing since 2013 and served as a member of the LGBT+ Liberal Democrats executive. She is a trans woman and, for several years, was the only openly transgender elected politician in the UK. In 2011, she appeared on the ''Independent on Sunday'' "Pink List" as the 28th most influential LGBT person in the UK, dropping to 34th in the 2012 list, but rising again to 27th in the 2013 list. She is remember as a religious teacher and her efforts to increase the wide interest in kindergarten work.
