"Sarah" is a song written and recorded by Mauro Scocco for his 1988 album '' Mauro Scocco''. The song charted at Svensktoppen for 14 weeks between 7 October 1988-22 January 1989, topping the chart. The single was released in 1988, and topped the Swedish singles chart. "Sarah" also became the most popular Trackslistan song of 1988. In the TV program '' Pluras kök'', aired in April 2011, actress Elin Klinga told she was the inspiration for the song. On 20 May 2011, Mauro Scocco confirmed this for P3 Populär. Music video Parts of the music video were shot at the 7 Eleven store at the corner near Valhallavägen and Artillerigatan. Other parts were recorded at Jungfrugatan in Östermalm, where "Sarah" is seen in one of the French windows at Jungfrugatan 52. Mauro Scocco
Mauro Scocco (born 11 September 1962) is a Swedish pop artist of Italian descent. He has been described as "one of the sharpest songwriters in Sweden". Scocco was the singer for the pop group Ratata (1980–83) transformed into a duo with Johan Ekelund (1983–89). After Ratata, Scocco has continued as a solo artist since. In 2014, he cooperated with Plura Jonsson releasing a joint album as ''Mauro & Plura''. Early life and career Scocco was born in Fristad in Borås. He grew up in Stockholm and in Borås. Scocco formed the pop group Ratata in 1980 along with a few classmates while he was still in school. The first single was "För varje dag" (''"For each day"'') released on the debut album ''Ratata'' in 1981. Dansbandskampen 2008
Dansbandskampen is a television show established by Peter Settman and his production company Baluba. Peter Settman is also the show host. The show is broadcast over Sveriges Television, with season 1 airing October–December 2008. In 2008, five bands participated each week. Each week consisted of one moment where the bands were free to perform a pop or rock song, followed up by the second moment, ''Dansbandsklassikern'' ("The dansband classic"), where a famous dansband song was performed, chosen by drawing. The finalist bands are given an own, new own-produced song, followed up by the two remaining bands performing their own version of a song. There are discussions of spreading the concept outside Sweden, with a disco/folk music version in Poland and a country music version in the United States.
