Antonio Fernández Santillana
Antonio Fernández Santillana (7 February 1876 – 6 December 1909) was an early pioneer in aviation. He was a Spaniard residing in France and a tailor by profession. Fernández became interested in aviation and constructed three aircraft during 1909, the third of which was exhibited at the Paris Aero Salon in October 1909. Everardo Zapata Santillana
Asunto Everardo Zapata Santillana (born 1926) is a Peruvian elementary school teacher and author of Coquito, a best-selling book, used to teach Spanish-speaking children how to read and write. Early life Zapata was born in Tambo Valley, Province of Islay in The Department Of Arequipa, Peru in 1926. His mother died when he was young, and grew up alone with a priest taking care of him. Very early on, he felt the need to study and pursue a career in teaching. He took his professional training in the Escuela Normal de Varones “San Juan Bautista de La Salle”, Arequipa, where he graduated as an elementary school teacher. He was sent to a small town called Punta de Bombón, Arequipa. Coquito In Punta de Bombón he founded a First Grade School in 1952 that now bears his name. Íñigo López de Mendoza, 1st Marquess of Santillana (19 August 139825 March 1458) was a Castilian politician and poet who held an important position in society and literature during the reign of John II of Castile. Biography He was born at Carrión de los Condes in Old Castile to a noble family which figured prominently in the arts. His grandfather, Pedro González de Mendoza I, and his father, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza Admiral of Castile, were both poets with close ties to the great literary figures of the time: Chancellor Lopez de Ayala, Fernán Pérez de Guzmán and Gómez Manrique. His mother, Doña Leonor Lasso de la Vega, was a wealthy heiress belonging to the House of Lasso de la Vega. Lopez de Mendoza's father died when he was five years old, which brought his family into financial difficulties. Carlos Alonso González (born 23 August 1952), known as Santillana, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a striker. He was best known for his Real Madrid spell, which consisted of 17 La Liga seasons and 645 competitive matches. He signed with the club in 1971, from Racing de Santander. The recipient of more than 50 caps for Spain, Santillana represented the nation in two World Cups and as many European Championships. Santillana del Mar () is a historic town situated in Cantabria, Spain. Its many historic buildings attract thousands of holidaymakers every year.
