Sant Feliu De Codines
Sant Feliu de Codines () is a municipality in the comarca of Vallès Oriental, Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the north-west corner of the comarca, on the border with comarca of Moianès to the north, and the comarca of Vallès Occidental to the west. History The name of Sant Feliu first appears in 1059, when the nobleman Mir Geribert and his wife Guisla were named Barons of Montbui by the Count of Barcelona Ramon Berenguer I the Old. These were the first feudal lords, who occupied a barony that extended the length and breadth of an extensive region which includes the present-day municipalities of Sant Feliu, Bigues i Riells, l'Ametlla del Vallès and Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana. Over the centuries, Sant Feliu became the most prominent part of the barony, when measured both in number of inhabitants and in artisanal production. Francesc Cambó i Batlle (; 2 September 1876 – 30 April 1947) was a conservative Spanish politician from Catalonia, founder and leader of the autonomist party ''Lliga Regionalista''. Manuel Carrasco i Formiguera (3 April 1890 – 9 April 1938), was a Spanish lawyer and Christian democracy, Christian democrat Catalan nationalist politician. His execution, by order of Francisco Franco, provoked protests from Catholic journalists such as Joseph Ageorges, the President of the International Federation of Catholic Journalists. Ageorges wrote, "''Even more than the death of the Louis Antoine, Duke of Enghien, Duke of Enghien stained the memory of Napoleon, the death of Carrasco has stained the reputation of Franco''". Pompeu Fabra i Poch (; Gràcia, Barcelona, 20 February 1868 – Prada de Conflent, 25 December 1948) was a Spanish engineer and grammarian. El Vallès (or simply Vallès) is a historical county in Catalonia, Spain, located in the center of the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range.
