"Sans contrefaçon" ("Without Forgery/Counterfeit") is a 1987 in music, 1987 song recorded by France, French artist Mylène Farmer. It was released on 16 October 1987 as the first Single (music), single from her second studio album, ''Ainsi soit je...''. It was a big hit in 1987 and is one of her three best-selling singles. It became a very popular song in France over the years and has been covered by many artists. A remixed version by the Disc jockey, DJ J.C.A. was released on 5 August 2003 as the first single from the compilation album called ''RemixeS''. Background and writing Written by Farmer in 1987, the theme of "Sans contrefaçon" was inspired by two other songs, "Comme un garçon" by Sylvie Vartan and "3è Sexe" by the band Indochine (band), Indochine. Mylène Jeanne Gautier (; born 12 September 1961), known professionally as Mylène Farmer (), is a Canadian-born French singer, songwriter, occasional actress, writer, and entrepreneur. Having sold more than 30 million records in France, she is among the most successful recording artists of all time in that country. She holds the record for the most number one hit singles in the French charts, with twenty-one to date – eight of which were consecutive. "Comme un garçon" () is a song by Sylvie Vartan from her 1967 album ''Comme un garçon''. It was also released on an EP and as a single. Composition The song was written in 1967 when the Sexual Revolution in France was at its height: women wore mini-skirts and trousers and the Neuwirth Law was adopted, authorizing contraception. Also, as Gérard Tilles and Françoise Gründ Khaznadar note in their book ''Hair: Sign and Signification'', the lyrics of the song ("Just like a boy, I wear my hair long") refer to the "long hair revolution" of the 1960s: boys started to look like girls, "who, in their turn, idn'tmiss the opportunity to pass for boys by adopting the same haircuts". A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in.
