Sandžak TV or Sandžačka Televizija ( sr-Cyrl, Санџак ТВ) is a Serbian commercial television channel with regional coverage dedicated to local news from territory of Sandžak and Raška. Company headquarters is located in Novi Pazar, Dimitrija Tucovića bb street. History Sandžak TV was founded as ''Ekran TV'' on 29 December 1998. as the first television in Novi Pazar. After 16 June 2008, television changed its name into the ''Universa'' and new owner was International University of Novi Pazar. The main idea of university television was to be a training bastion for journalists who study at the Department of Journalism at IUNP. Since 11 May 2011., television channel changed its name to present-day Sandžak Televizija. Along with the television channel, local news agency SanapressSandžak news agency, Refref radio and newspapers ''Glas islama'' and ''Revija Sandžak'' are part of local Media centar in Novi Pazar. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. International University Of Novi Pazar
The International University of Novi Pazar ( sr, Интернационални Универзитет у Новом Пазару, Internacionalni Univerzitet u Novom Pazaru) is a Serbian private university which was founded in 2002 with support of then Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Đinđić. Upon their request a Muslim minority from Sandžak area was given the right to found their own university. This institution is a Waqf (often translated in English with Foundation), which is legally something between publicly owned and privately owned university. Sandžak (; sh, / , ; sq, Sanxhaku; ota, سنجاق, Sancak), also known as Sanjak, is a historical geo-political region in Serbia and Montenegro. The name Sandžak derives from the Sanjak of Novi Pazar, a former Ottoman administrative district founded in 1865. Serbs usually refer to the region by its medieval name of Raška. Between 1878 and 1909 the region was placed under Austro-Hungarian occupation, following which it was ceded back to the Ottoman Empire. In 1912 the region was divided between the kingdoms of Montenegro and Serbia. The most populous city in the region is Novi Pazar in Serbia. Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. Raška (region)
Raška ( sr, Рашка; la, Rascia) is a geographical and historical region, covering the south-western parts of modern Serbia, and historically also including north-eastern parts of modern Montenegro, and some of the most eastern parts of modern Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the Middle Ages, the region was a center of the Serbian Principality and of the Serbian Kingdom, one central settlement of which was the city of Ras (a World Heritage Site) in the late 12th century. Novi Pazar ( sr-cyr, Нови Пазар, lit. "New Bazaar"; ) is a city located in the Raška District of southwestern Serbia. As of the 2011 census, the urban area has 66,527 inhabitants, while the city administrative area has 100,410 inhabitants.
