Sanctified With Dynamite
''Blood of the Saints'' is the fourth studio album by the German power metal band Powerwolf, released in 2011.- - - It is the band's first album with songs that had music videos, made for "We Drink Your Blood" and "Sanctified with Dynamite". In addition to recording at Studio Fredman, Sweden, the band recorded some parts of the album in the 12th-century ''Deutschherrenkapelle'' chapel in Saarbrücken. A limited edition of ''Blood of the Saints'' included a bonus CD titled ''The Sacrilege Symphony (And Still the Orchestra Plays)'', which contained orchestral versions of Powerwolf songs. It was arranged by Dominic G. Joutsen, who previously worked for the metal band Heavenwood. Critical reception The record reached position number 23 in the German charts and 75 in the Swiss charts. Powerwolf
Powerwolf, often stylized as POWERWOLF, is a German power metal band founded in 2003 in Saarbrücken by members of Red Aim. The band consists of vocalist Karsten Brill as "Attila Dorn", lead guitarist Benjamin Buss as "Matthew Greywolf", bassist/rhythm guitarist David Vogt as "Charles Greywolf", keyboardist Christian Jost as "Falk Maria Schlegel" and drummer Roel van Helden. The group uses dark themes and images, contrary to traditional power metal music, as well as corpse paint, gothic-tinged compositions and songs about werewolf and vampire legends. They released their debut album, '' Return in Bloodred,'' in 2005. Their second album, ''Lupus Dei'', was released in 2007. Karsten Brill (; born 27 October 1970), best known by his stage name Attila Dorn, is a German singer. He has been the lead vocalist of power metal band Powerwolf since 2003. Career Dragon's Tongue and Meskalin (1991–1998) In 1991, Brill along with Derek Butsch (drums), Markus Görg (bass), Thorsten Neu (lead guitar) and Stefan Reile (rhythm guitar) created Dragon's Tongue, the first grunge band in Saarland. They quickly earned a very good reputation. They changed their name to Meskalin in 1996. The band was dissolved after the death of Derek Butsch in 1998. Roel Van Helden
Roel van Helden (born 2 September 1980) is a Dutch musician known mostly for his work as a drummer for German metal band Powerwolf. Early life Born in Lottum, Roel van Helden's first experience with playing drums was in a talent show at the age of 14. He attended various drum lessons with teachers such as Ivan de Jong (ex-Firewind, Torstein Olafsson (Stargazer), etc.). In addition, he played on his older brother's record, and in various local bands. Falk Maria Schlegel
Christian Jost (born 29 September 1975), best known by his stage name Falk Maria Schlegel, is a German musician. He is best known as the keyboardist of power metal band Powerwolf. Career Jost started as a keyboardist of a progressive thrash metal band The Experience in 1993. He created layout for their ''Insight'' album. He joined Red Aim in 2002 under the stage names Ray Kitzler and Ray Volver. In 2003, along with other Red Aim members he joined Powerwolf. David Vogt (; born 5 September 1975), best known by his stage name Charles Greywolf, is a German musician, record producer, mixer and recording engineer. He is best known as the guitarist of the power metal band Powerwolf. He runs a recording studio in Berus, called "Studio Greywolf". He's married to Helen Vogt, vocalist of Lighthouse in Darkness and formerly from Flowing Tears. Career In 2002, David Vogt joined Red Aim as a bassist under a stage name "El Davide". Benjamin Buss (; born 7 October 1977), best known by his stage name Matthew Greywolf, is a German musician, best known as the guitarist and a main songwriter in the power metal band Powerwolf. He's married to a photographer Janine Buss. Biography Buss comes from Wadgassen. He was raised in a Catholic family. He became interested in heavy metal music when he was 11 years old. In 1994, along with other people he started a band Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers. He was a guitarist and a keyboardist of the band. They changed their name to Flowing Tears in 1999. Studio Fredman is a well-known recording studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, owned and operated by producer Fredrik Nordström. It is popular among Swedish metal bands, with artists such as At the Gates, Deathstars, Nightrage, Norwegian band Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Zonaria, Machinae Supremacy, HammerFall, England's Bring Me the Horizon, A Breach of Silence, and Opeth recording multiple releases in the studio. Originally, it was located in Gothenburg, but by 2005, it was relocated to Hyssna about 30 miles outside Gothenburg. The original facility was also co-owned by In Flames vocalist, Anders Fridén.
