Sanchari Theatre
Sanchari Theatre (Kannada: ಸಂಚಾರಿ ಥಿಯೇಟರ್) is a cultural organization located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Sanchari Theatre is a drama troupe which is dedicated to the growth of drama. “Sanchari” is one of the Bhavas. Bhava or to emote is the ‘becoming’. Sanchari Bhavas are those always crossing feelings which are ancillary to a permanent mood. Thus the name Sanchari Theatre is fabricated. Sanchari is the brainchild of acclaimed dramatists N. Mangala, Rangayana Raghu and Gajanana T Naik. Mangala and Rangayana Raghu were resident actors of Rangayana before starting Sanchari Theatre. Sanchari produced plays that included Kannada writers and Kannada translations of plays written by William Shakespeare and other foreign writers. Naanu Avanalla
''Upendra'' is a 1999 Indian Kannada-language psychological thriller film written and directed by Upendra. It starred Upendra, Raveena Tandon, Prema and Damini. The film explores three human emotions through the relationship between the main character and the three heroines. The songs of the film were written by Upendra and music was composed by Gurukiran. The movie has a cult fanbase. It is said that the director named it as Upendra with the thought that the name includes the names of the main characters of the film (U-Upendra, P-Prema, D-Damini & Ra-Raveena). The film won Filmfare Award for Best Film (Kannada) and Filmfare Award for Best Director (Kannada). Sanchari Vijay
Vijay Kumar Basavarajaiah (17 July 1983 – 15 June 2021), known by his stage name Sanchari Vijay, was an Indian actor known for his work in Kannada cinema. He began his career as a stage actor. He trained on stage from Sanchari Theatre, a culture centre with its own drama troupe, based in Bangalore. For his portrayal of a transgender person in the Kannada film ''Naanu Avanalla...Avalu'' (2014), Vijay was awarded the National Film Award for Best Actor at the 62nd National Film Awards. He also received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor – South for the performance. He received praise for his performances in ''Killing Veerappan'' (2016) and ''Nathicharami'' (2018). ''The Hitavada'' is an English daily newspaper circulating mainly in Central parts of India. Founded in 1911 by freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhale in Nagpur, the newspaper was taken over by Purohit and Company, owned by Banwarilal Purohit, the former Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Nagpur and present governor of Punjab.
