Anzano Di Puglia
Anzano di Puglia is a small town and ''comune'' in the province of Foggia and region of Apulia in southeast Italy. It rises above sea level. The town lies along the Apennines, astride the Daunian Mountains at the intersection of two ancient Roman roads, namely Via Herculea and Via Aurelia Aeclanensis, which leads to Herdonias. Such a geographical position has led to its possession changing several times over the centuries. At some times it has been in Apulia, at others in Campania. Daunian Mountains
Daunian Mountains (in Italian Monti della Daunia or Monti Dauni, or also improperly Subappennino Dauno) are a mountain range in southern Italy, constituting the eastern appendix of the Campanian Apennines. They occupy the western fringe of Capitanata and the border of Apulia with Molise and Campania; the range takes its name from an ancient Italic tribe, the Dauni, although it was strongly held by Hirpini instead. The mountains and hills are bounded northwards by the Fortore valley, eastwards by the Tavoliere delle Puglie, southwards by the upper Ofanto valley. The chain is formed by sandstone terrains, and is the source of a series of small streams which flow through the Tavoliere into the Adriatic Sea. The highest peak is Monte Cornacchia, at . Saint Sossius or Sosius (Italian: ''Sosso'', ''Sossio'' or ''Sosio''; 275 – 305 AD) was Deacon of Misenum, an important naval base of the Roman Empire in the Bay of Naples. He was martyred along with Saint Januarius at Pozzuoli during the Diocletian Persecutions.
