San Patrizio
San Patrizio a Villa Ludovisi is a Roman Catholic parish, titular church, and national church of the United States in Rome. History It was the national churches of Ireland until 2017 when it became the national church of the United States of America. Since August 2017 (when they were transferred from Santa Susanna), it has been under the pastoral care of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul the Apostle (Paulist Fathers), a religious order which originated and is based in New York City. It was built in 1908 to designs in a Romanesque-Byzantine revival style by Aristide Leonori. An earlier church on the site, , was demolished, but a fresco was saved and installed in the new structure. The apse mosaic dates from 1929 and depicts Saint Patrick preaching to the crowds. Charles (Cahal) Brendan Cardinal Daly KGCHS (1 October 1917 – 31 December 2009) was an Irish philosopher, theologian, writer and international speaker and, in later years, a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. Tomás Séamus Cardinal Ó Fiaich KGCHS (3 November 1923 – 8 May 1990) was an Irish prelate of the Catholic Church. He served as the Catholic Primate of All Ireland and Archbishop of Armagh from 1977 until his death. He was created a Cardinal in 1979. William Conway (cardinal)
William John Cardinal Conway (22 January 1913 – 17 April 1977) was an Irish cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland from 1963 until his death, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1965. Sant'Isidoro A Capo Le Case
Sant'Isidoro a Capo le Case is a Roman Catholic church, monastic complex and college of the Franciscan Order, in the Ludovisi district on the Pincian Hill in Rome. It contains the Cappella Da Sylva, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, who also designed the funerary monument of his son Paolo Valentino Bernini in it. Since the giving of San Patrizio a Villa Ludovisi to the United States of America for use as their national church, Sant'Isidoro has become the National Church of Ireland in Rome. The monastery was founded by a gift from the nobleman Ottaviano Vestri di Barbiano, as shown in a bull of pope Urban VIII of 1625.
