San Bonaventura da Bagnoregio is a titular church located in Rome, Italy. Location San Bonaventura da Bagnoregio is located to the east of Centocelle Airport. The nearest Metro station is Parco di Centocelle. It is not to be confused with the church of San Bonaventura al Palatino, located on the Palatine Hill. History On 1 November 1974 the parish was established by Cardinal Ugo Poletti and entrusted to the Minorites. The church was designed by Francesco Paolo Riccobene and consecrated on 19 May 1999 by Cardinal Camillo Ruini. In 2018, Pope Francis declared it a titular church and assigned it to Joseph Coutts, Archbishop of Karachi. The Archdiocese of Karachi is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or archdiocese of the Catholic Church in India. It was erected on 20 May 1948 under as a then-suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Bombay. History The Augustinians were the first to start a mission in the village of Kolachi in the 17th century. They were followed by the Discalced Carmelites who worked in the area until 1672. Joseph Coutts (born 21 July 1945) is a Pakistani prelate of the Catholic Church, who served as Archbishop of Karachi from 2012 to 2021. He served as Bishop of Faisalabad from 1998 to 2012. He served as president of the Italian Episcopal Conference from 1991 to 2007 and as Vicar General of the Diocese of Rome from 1991 to 2008. Ugo Poletti (19 April 1914 – 25 February 1997) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Vicar General of Rome from 1973 to 1991, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1973. Biography Born in Omegna, Poletti studied at the seminary in Novara before being ordained to the priesthood on 29 June 1938. He then served as vice- rector of the theological seminary and bursar of the general diocesan seminary in Novara until 1946. Palatine Hill
The Palatine Hill (; la, Collis Palatium or Mons Palatinus; it, Palatino ), which relative to the seven hills of Rome is the centremost, is one of the most ancient parts of the city and has been called "the first nucleus of the Roman Empire." Parco di Centocelle is an underground station of Line C of the Rome Metro. It is located near the intersection between the Via Casilina and Via Palmiro Togliatti. It is the last station of Line C following the route of the former Rome–Giardinetti railway The Roma–Giardinetti railway is a narrow gauge on-street railway which connects Laziali (a regional train station some from Termini's main concourse) with Giardinetti to the east just past the Grande Raccordo Anulare, Rome's orbital motorway. .... Centocelle Airport
Centocelle Airport ( it, Aeroporto di Centocelle) was an airport situated in Centocelle, a quarter of Rome in Italy. It is also referred to as Rome-Centocelle Airport (''Aeroporto di Roma-Centocelle''). It was the first airport and flight school in Italy, opened on 15 April 1909 when Wilbur Wright came to give a demonstration of his "Flyer" airplane, footage of which appears in the early newsreel film, '' Wilbur Wright und seine Flugmaschine''.
