San (band)
San ( sr-cyr, Сан, trans. ''The Dream'') was a Yugoslav rock band formed in Belgrade in 1971. San was formed by the composer Aleksandar "Sanja" Ilić. It disbanded in 1975, after the band's vocalist Predrag Jovičić died in concert from an electric shock. Band history The band was formed in 1971 by keyboardist and composer Aleksandar "Sanja" Ilić, who gathered former members of the beat bands Smeli, Samonikli, Bele Višnje and Vragolani. The band consisted of Ilić (keyboards), Predrag Jovičić (vocals), Aleksandar Slaviković (guitar), Dragoslav Jovanović (bass guitar) and Aleksandar Grujić (drums). In 1971, the band released their first 7-inch single, featuring the songs "Tebe sam želeo" ("I Wanted You") and "Helena", through PGP-RTB. Two years later, the band released the single with the songs "Papirni brodovi" ("Paper Ships") and "Hej, malena" ("Hey, Little Girl"). Zlatko Pejaković (born 29 August 1950) is a Croatian singer. He has released 27 albums over his five decade long career. He started his music career in 1967 with local bands in Osijek. In 1972 he joined Korni Grupa, who in turn reached their peak with Pejaković as their lead singer. The breakup of the band in 1974 kickstarted his solo career. Zdenka Kovačiček (16 January 1944) is a Croatian jazz and rock vocalist. She remains one of the most prominent musicians on the Croatian music scene. Early life Zdenka Kovačiček was born on 16 January 1944 in Zagreb. Her father was from Tuheljske Toplice and mother from Dubravica. Pop Mašina was one of the most notable bands of the Yugoslav rock scene in the 1970s.
