Samyang Ramen
Samyang ramen (Instant Noodles) is instant ramen made by Samyang Foods, a South Korean grocery company. History It was launched as South Korea's first ramen product on September 15, 1963. Industrial oil scandal On November 3, 1989, an anonymous letter was sent to the South Korean authorities alleging that Samyang ramen was made with industrial oil. This led to five food representatives, including one from Samyang Foods, being arrested under the Act on Special Measures for the Control of Health Offenses, and Food Sanitation Act. On November 6, 1989, the Ministry of Health, Social Affairs, and Health ruled that ramen was safe for human consumption, and all detained representatives were released. Samyang Foods Co., Ltd. is an international South Korean food manufacturer and the first instant ramen company in South Korea. Samyang Food was founded on September 15, 1961 by Jeon Jung Yoon. In 1963, Samyang Food debuted the first Korean instant noodle. History In the early 1970s, Samyang Foods converted a 20 km2 Daegwallyeong forest into a grassland to raise livestock. The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW previously MW, ko, 보건복지부) is a branch of the government of South Korea. The headquarters is in Sejong City. The large cup ''ramyeon'' debuted in June 2012, and a smaller cup was released in November 2013. It is considered one of the spiciest instant noodles available in the Korean market, with the original packet having 4,404 Scoville units.
