Samtrygd
Samtrygd was an insurance company based in Oslo, Norway. It was founded as Samtrygd, Norsk Gjensidige Forsikringsforening in 1922 as a reinsurance company for 260 smaller fire treasuries. From 1958 it developed several types of general insurance. It shared manager with the car insurance Norsk Bilforsikring Gjensidige for many years, merging in 1974. In the same year, it started a cooperation with the life insurance company Livsforsikringsselskapet Gjensidige, and in 1976 the Gjensidige name and logo became the sole in use. Hjalmar Steenstrup
Hjalmar Steenstrup (11 October 1890 – 18 December 1945) was a Norwegian insurance agent, and Milorg pioneer and intelligence agent during World War II. Personal life Steenstrup was born in Modum as a son of curate Hjalmar Steenstrup (1847–1915) and his wife Fredrikke Brun (1861–1905). He was a descendant of Paul Steenstrup and Peter Steenstrup, and a nephew of Johan Brun and brother-in-law of Gunnar Isachsen. He married Eva Glatved Martens (1896–1976) in August 1916 in Alversund. Career Steenstrup worked for and later managed the insurance company ''Det norske gjensidige Skogbrandforsikringsselskab''. He was co-founder and manager of the insurance association Samtrygd Gjensidig Norsk Forsikringsforening. He issued the book ''Hvem er hvem?'' (lit. The company traces its roots back to 1816 when a fire mutual was founded as ''Land Gjensidige Brandkasse'' in what is today Innlandet county. Kristoffer Skraastad
Kristoffer Skraastad (31 July 1865 – 7 March 1948) was a Norwegian farmer and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born at Skråstad in Vang, Hedmark as a son of farmers Gudbrand Rabstad (1833–1896) and Marte Skraastad (1836–1921). He had modest education, but managed from 1886 and was then a tenant at the farm Hoel in Vang from 1890 to 1900. In 1900 he bought the family farm Skråstad, running it until passing it down to his son in 1938. He was a member of Vang municipal council continuously from 1898 to 1928. During these years he served as mayor from 1913 to 1916, deputy mayor until 1917 then mayor again from 1918 to 1922. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway from Hedmark in 1924, and served through one term. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Reinsurance is insurance that an insurance company purchases from another insurance company to insulate itself (at least in part) from the risk of a major claims event.
