Sammy Mejía
Samuel José Mejía (born February 7, 1983) is a Dominican American retired professional basketball player. He played college basketball at DePaul University. Standing at , he plays at the shooting guard and small forward positions. Amateur career Mejía attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx. He was there from 1997 to 2000 and led the Rough Riders basketball team to the PSAL's "B" division championship in 2000. Mejía left there to attend the Storm King School, Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, from which he graduated. He was coached there by Kevin Houston who led the nation in scoring in 1986–87. Professional career Mejía was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the 2007 NBA draft, with the 57th overall pick. The Pistons waived Mejía on October 29, 2007. The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. VTB United League (russian: Единая Лига ВТБ) is an international professional men's club basketball list of basketball leagues, league that was founded in 2008. It is made up of mostly Russian clubs, along with one each from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Since VTB United League 2013–14, 2013, it is the Russian basketball league system, first tier of Russian professional club basketball.
