The LNB Pro A MVP is the MVP award of the top-tier level men's professional club basketball league in France, the LNB Pro A. Maxi-Basket holds the vote, and calls it the referendum. Vendée Challans Basket is a French basketball club based in the city of Challans and playing in NM1. History The club was founded in 1936 as ''Étoile Sportive du Marais Challans''. Under the abbreviated name ESM Challans in 1971 the team was promoted to the first division of the French Basketball Championship, the National 1. There Challans finished in seventh place, which represented the beginning of the establishment in the first division. Stéphane Ostrowski (born 17 March 1962) is a retired French professional basketball player. At a height of 6 ft 8 in (2.05 m) tall, he played at the power forward position. He is widely considered to be one of the major figures of French basketball history, and he was among the 105 player nominees for the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors list. Richard Dacoury (born July 6, 1959, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast) is a former French professional basketball player. He retired in 1998, LNB Pro A#Players with the most French League championships won, as the basketball player who won the most French League titles during his career, with 9. Hervé Dubuisson (born 8 August 1957) is a French former professional basketball player and coach. During his playing career, at a height of 1.97 m (6'5 ") tall, he played at the shooting guard and small forward positions. Dubuisson is the French Championship's all-time career leader in total points scored. He is also the senior French national team's all-time career leader in total points scored. Limoges Cercle Saint-Pierre, commonly referred to as Limoges CSP or CSP, is a French professional basketball club based in the city of Limoges. History The club was founded in 1929, but its peak was during the 1980s and 1990s, when they became the first French club to win a major European-wide title in a team sport, by winning the FIBA European League (EuroLeague) in 1993. In the 1999–2000 season, Limoges won its 9th top-tier level French League title, but it was relegated to the French second division LNB Pro B, after winning it, because of financial problems. Edward Murphy (born January 14, 1956) is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a 6'4" shooting guard-small forward. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, he played basketball at Marist High School. He opted in 1974 for the academic team of Merrimack College, where he stayed until 1978, twice finishing as NCAA II runner-up (1977, 1978). Top scorer of the Merrimack team, Murphy was drafted in 1978 by the Atlanta Hawks, in the 8th round (160th pick overall). He never played in the NBA, instead landing in Europe. ASVEL Basket, commonly known as ASVEL or sometimes as ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, and also known as LDLC ASVEL for sponsorship reasons, is a French professional basketball team that is located in the city of Villeurbanne, which is a suburb of Lyon, France.
