Samir Safarov
Samir Eldar oglu Safarov (; 2 January 1979) is an Azerbaijani military officer, lieutenant colonel serving in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. He fought in the 2016 Nagorno-Karabakh clashes and 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. Early life Samir Eldar oglu Safarov was born on 2 January 1979, in Yeni Daşkənd, Barda District of the Azerbaijani SSR, then Soviet Union. He entered Yeni Daşkənd secondary school in 1985, and graduated from it in 1995. Safarov was admitted to the Baku Higher Naval Academy in 1996. He graduated from it on 24 June 2000, with a degree in socio-political psychology. When Safarov graduated from the academy, he was also awarded with the rank of lieutenant. The Azerbaijan Higher Naval Academy () is an educational institution of the Azerbaijani Naval Forces. It is part of the education system of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan. Polad Hashimov
Polad Israyil oghlu Hashimov ( az, Polad İsrayıl oğlu Həşimov; 2 January 1975 – 14 July 2020) was an Azerbaijani military officer, National Hero of Azerbaijan and a major general who served as the Deputy Commander and the Chief of Staff of the 3rd Army Corps of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Hashimov was a popular military figure who took part in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and the Four-Day War. He was awarded numerous honours during his military career, including jubilee and other medals. He commanded the Azerbaijani forces during the border clashes with Armenia in July 2020 and was killed on the morning of 14 July while fighting on the front-line in the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan. Tartar District ( az, Tərtər rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country and belongs to the Karabakh Economic Region. Goranboy District
Goranboy District ( az, Goranboy rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country and belongs to the Ganja-Dashkasan Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Kalbajar, Tartar, Yevlakh, Samukh, and Goygol. Its capital and largest city is Goranboy. As of 2020, the district had a population of 105,000. During the Soviet era, the region was best known for the oil-cure sanatorium resort of Naftalan, though administratively Naftalan counts as an independent city. Fuzuli District
Fuzuli District ( az, Füzuli rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-west of the country and belongs to the Karabakh Economic Region. Lankaran District
Lankaran District (, tly, Lankon rəyon, script=Latn) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-east of the country and belongs to the Lankaran-Astara Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Astara, Lerik, Masally, and Neftchala.
