Samah Ramadan
Samah Ramadan Mohamed (also ''Samah Ramadan'', ar, سماح رمضان محمد; born April 16, 1978, in Cairo) is an Egyptian judoka, who played for the women's heavyweight category. She is a two-time Olympian, and a five-time medalist at the African Judo Championships. She also defeated Nigeria's Adijat Ayuba for the gold medal in the 78 kg class at the 2007 All-Africa Games in Algiers, Algeria. Ramadan made her official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she lost the first preliminary round match of the women's heavyweight class (+78 kg), by an ippon and a soto makikomi (outer wraparound), to Russia's Tea Donguzashvili. Ramadan later qualified for the repechage rounds, but she was beaten in her first match by South Korea's Choi Sook-Ie. is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ''ippon'' or ''waza-ari'' contest, usually judo, karate or jujutsu. ''Waza-ari'' in judo A ''waza-ari'' is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in judo, the others being a '' yuko'' (advantage) or, formerly, a ''koka''. An ''ippon'' would be the highest score, that once awarded, ends the match in favor of the athlete who scored it. The referee raises his arm laterally parallel to the ground to award ''waza-ari''. Seoi Nage
is a shoulder throw, one of the traditional forty throws of Judo as developed by Jigoro Kano. It belongs to the first group, Dai Ikkyo, of the traditional throwing list, Gokyo (no waza), of Kodokan Judo. It is also part of the current 67 Throws of Kodokan Judo. It is classified as a hand technique, te-waza, and is the second throw performed in the Nage-no-kata. Variations The specific techniques of morote-seoi-nage (two hands seoi-nage), or eri-seoi, are usually generalised as simply seoi-nage. The distinctive technical aspect of this classification is that tori (the one executing the technique) grips with their two hands, as opposed to Ippon Seoi Nage, in which only one hand remains gripping while the other slides under uke's (the one receiving the technique) armpit.
