Sam Thomas (born 8 January 1986 in Brighton, East Sussex, UK) is a campaigner for men living with eating disorders, mental health & alcohol addiction. In 2008 he founded Men Get Eating Disorders Too (MGEDT) which in December 2010 became a registered charity in the UK. Sam Thomas (born 22 June 1984) is a retired Welsh National Hunt jockey who is now a horse trainer. He is best known for winning the 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup with Denman. Across his career as a jockey, Thomas won 509 races and earnt £5.59 million prize money in Great Britain and a further €255,815 in the Republic of Ireland. Personal life Thomas was born in Abergavenny, Wales. He rode in point to points before graduating to race riding. Racing career Thomas began his racing career with David Evans in Wales. He primarily looked after the horses and took them to races. Thomas had his first runner at Exeter Racecourse, If And But on 20 December 2001. His first winner was Indian Summer at Ludlow Racecourse on 2 April 2003. Thomas joined Venetia Williams yard and by 20 he had ridden out his claim, and saw success with Limerick Boy winning the 2004 Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton Park and a Summer Cup at Uttoxeter Racecourse with Kock De La Vesvre. Sam Fan Thomas (born Samuel Thomas Ndonfeng, April 1952, Bafoussam, Cameroon) is a Cameroonian musician associated with Makossa. He began in the late 1960s and had his first hit with "Rikiatou". His "African Typic Collection" was an international hit in 1984 and is perhaps his best known work. Thomas began his career in the early 1970s as a guitarist in the Cameroonian band Tigres Noires. He stayed with that band until 1976, when he launched his solo career. Career He started his musical career in 1968 when he joined The Black Tigers, led by the blind musician, Andre Marie Tala. He stayed with Tala for eight years, recording several singles. The band also recorded in Paris and toured Senegal and other African countries. During this period Tala developed his own tchamassi rhythm, a modern music style based on Bamileke folklore. Sam Thomas (born June 14, 1999) is an American professional basketball player. She was undrafted in the 2022 WNBA Draft, but made the Phoenix Mercury roster in 2022. She played college basketball at Arizona. College career Thomas committed to Arizona career after being ranked 92nd overall by ESPN HoopGurlz for the 2017 Class. She was the highest rated Wildcat recruit coming in from the class. During her freshman season, Thomas started all 30 games for the Wildcats and scored the 10th most points in Arizona history by a freshman with 306.
