Sam-D Petchyindee Academy ( th, สามดี เพชรยินดีอะคาเดมี่) is a retired Thai Muay Thai fighter. He fought under Sia Boat, Nuttadaj Vachirattanawong, the leader of the Petchyindee promotion. Biography Sam-D started boxing at 8 years old and was eventually picked up by the famous Petchyindee Academy camp at 18 years old. He was considered a top fighter from 2008 and up until his retirement in 2018. He had a fierce rivalry with Wanchai Kiatmuu9 whom he fought 6 times, with 4 wins to himself and 2 wins for Wanchai. He also had fierce rivalry with Satanmuanglek Numponthep, whom he had lost to thrice between 2013 and 2015. He finally won against Satanmuanglek, by KO, on his run for the Paedpakan Tournament title in 2017. He would retire the year after, at 25 years of age. Rajadamnern Stadium
Rajadamnern Stadium ( th, สนามมวยราชดำเนิน; ), also spelled ''Ratchadamnoen'', is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Rajadamnern is one of the two main stadiums for modern muay Thai. It hosts fights every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The stadium has its own ranking system and championship titles up to middleweight (160 lbs). History In 1941, the prime minister of Thailand, Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram, gave orders to build a national boxing stadium on Rajadamnern Avenue. Due to the lack of construction supplies during the World War II, the project was halted until August 1945. When construction resumed, it took only four months to complete it. Rungnarai Kiatmuu9 ( th, รุ้งนารายณ์ เกียรติหมู่ 9) is a Thai Muay Thai fighter, originally from Buriram, in the northeast of Thailand. Biography and career Rungnarai started Muay Thai at 8 years old in a small camp called Lukhokphet near his village. At 14 he went to live at the Kiatmoo9 gym. In July 2019 Rungnarai received the 2018 Sports Writers Association of Thailand Fighter of the Year Award but lost by Knockout shortly after to Yothin FA Group which led the Association to strip him of his title and decide that no fighters were worthy of it that year, this decision was highly controversial in the Muay Thai community. Lumpinee Stadium
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium ( th, สนามเวทีมวยลุมพินี) is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The stadium is named after Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. Opened more than a decade later than Rajadamnern Stadium, Lumpinee is run by the Royal Thai Army. It has become the symbol of modern Muay Thai. Only Rajadamnern Stadium rivals the prestige of holding the title of "Muay Thai Champion of Lumpinee". The ranking system and championship titles are held from mini flyweight (105 lb) up to super welterweight (154 lb). Muay Thai bouts are held on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
