Saltrup halt is a railway halt serving the village of Saltrup in North Zealand, Denmark. Saltrup is located on the Gribskov Line from Hillerød to Gilleleje. Rail Transport In Denmark
The rail transport system in Denmark consists of 2,633 km of railway lines, of which the Copenhagen S-train network, the main line Helsingør-Copenhagen-Padborg (at the German border), and the Lunderskov-Esbjerg line are electrified. Most traffic is passenger trains, although there is considerable transit goods traffic between Sweden and Germany. Maintenance work on most Danish railway lines is done by Banedanmark, a state-owned company that also allocates tracks for train operators. The majority of passenger trains are operated by DSB, with Arriva and Nordjyske Jernbaner operating on some lines in Jutland. Goods transport is mainly performed by DB Schenker Rail, although other operators take care of a significant portion of the non-transit traffic. Gilleleje Station
Gilleleje station () is the main railway station serving the fishing town and seaside resort of Gilleleje on the north coast of the island of Zealand, Denmark. The station is the terminus of the Hornbæk Line from Helsingør to Gilleleje and of the Gilleleje branch of the Gribskov Line from Hillerød to Gilleje. The train services are currently operated by the railway company Lokaltog which runs frequent local train services from Gilleleje to Helsingør station and Hillerød station with onward connections from there to the rest of Denmark. Hillerød station () is a railway station serving the city of Hillerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the terminus of four railways lines: * An S-train line (Nordbanen) from Copenhagen, operated by DSB * Frederiksværkbanen, operated by Lokaltog * Gribskovbanen, operated by Lokaltog * Lille Nord towards Helsingør, operated by Lokaltog Though there are track connections between the four railways, they are seldom used; each has its own dedicated dead-end platform tracks. Regional rail, also known as local trains and stopping trains, are passenger rail services that operate between towns and cities. These trains operate with more stops over shorter distances than inter-city rail, but fewer stops and faster service than commuter rail. North Zealand
North Zealand, also North Sealand ( da, Nordsjælland), refers to the northern part of the Danish island of Zealand which is not clearly defined but generally covers the area north of Copenhagen. The Danish tourist authorities have recently introduced the term Danish Riviera to cover the area in view of its increasing importance for tourism. The area has three royal castles and offers resorts with beaches, as well as lakes and forests.
