The Salt Fork Brazos River is a braided, highly intermittent stream about long, heading along the edge of the Llano Estacado about east-southeast of Lubbock, Texas. Kent County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 753, making it the sixth-least populous county in Texas. Its county seat is Jayton. The White River is an intermittent stream in the South Plains of Texas and a tributary of the Brazos River of the United States. It rises west of Floydada in southwestern Floyd County at the confluence of Callahan and Runningwater Draws. From there, it runs southeast for to its mouth on the Salt Fork of the Brazos River in northwestern Kent County. Blanco Canyon
Blanco Canyon is a canyon located in the U.S. state of Texas. Eroded by the White River into the Caprock Escarpment on the east side of the Llano Estacado, the canyon runs for in a southeasterly direction, gradually widening from its beginning in southwestern Floyd County to across at its mouth in southeastern Crosby County. It also gradually deepens from at its beginning to 300 to 500 feet (91 to 150 m) at its mouth. One side canyon, 5-mile long Crawfish Canyon, was cut by Crawfish Creek as it feeds into the White River from the west. Blanco Canyon is one of several canyons that have been cut by rivers into the east face of the Llano Estacado, including Yellow House Canyon, Tule Canyon, and Palo Duro Canyon. Aspermont, Texas
Aspermont is a town in the U.S. state of Texas, and is the county seat of Stonewall County. The population was 835 at the 2019 census. History The town was established in 1889. Aspermont means "rough mountain" in Latin, and is probably a reference to the nearby Double Mountains. The city was founded by A. L. Rhomberg of Swiss-Austrian descent, who might have been a descendant of the noble family Aspermont from Graubünden, which is known to have relocated to Dornbirn in the Austrian part of the Rhine Valley and changed the name to Rhomberg. Marshall Formby, later a Texas state senator, operated the ''Aspermont Star'' weekly newspaper in the middle 1930s. The paper is now known as the ''Double Mountain Chronicle ''. Peacock is an unincorporated community in Stonewall County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 125 in 2000. Geography Peacock is located south of U.S. Highway 380 along FM 2211 in west central Stonewall County.
