Salina Kosgei
Salina Jebet Kosgei (born 16 November 1976 in Simotwo, Keiyo District) is a long distance runner from Kenya. She is a Commonwealth Games gold medalist, has competed at the Olympics and has won various marathons, including the 2009 Boston Marathon. Career She began her athletics career while at Simotwo Primary School. She moved on to Kapkenda Girls High School and won several national high school titles in heptathlon, 800 metres and 200 metres. Dire Tune
Dire Tune Arissi (pronounced "Deer-ay Too-nay"; Ge'ez: ዲሬ ቱኔ, born 19 June 1985) is an Ethiopian professional long-distance runner. Tune competed in the marathon at the 2005 World Championships. At the 2006 World Road Running Championships she finished fourth in the individual competition. This was good enough to help Ethiopia win a silver medal in the team competition. On April 21, 2008, Tune won the Boston Marathon with a time of 2:25:25. She was then selected to represent her country in the marathon at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and was the only Ethiopian to finish, placing 15th in a time of 2:31:16. In April 2009, Tune finished second by one second in the Boston Marathon with a time of 2:32:17. After finishing the race, she collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital. Barnabas Agui Kinyor (born 3 August 1961 in Nandi Hills) is a retired Kenyan athlete who specialized in the 400 metres hurdles. He finished seventh at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, eighth at the 1993 World Championships and won the bronze medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Marathon Des Alpes-Maritimes
The French Riviera Marathon (french: link=no, Marathon Des Alpes-Maritimes) is a marathon held annually along the south east coast of France, between the cities of Nice and Cannes. The event was first held in 2008, when the race achieved its full capacity of 10,000 runners, setting a new world record attendance for an event on its debut. Although the race has only been competed since 2008, it trails only the Paris Marathon in terms of participation within France. Yokohama Women's Marathon
The Yokohama Women's Marathon was a marathon held in Yokohama, Japan, and hosted by Japan Association of Athletics Federations, TV Asahi, the Asahi Shimbun. It is one of the major Japanese women's marathon races which is used to decide selection for the Olympics, along with the Nagoya Marathon and Osaka International Ladies Marathon. The competition replaced the Tokyo International Women's Marathon which was held in Tokyo from 1979 until 2008. The 2010 New York City Marathon was the 41st running of the annual marathon race in New York City, United States, which took place on Sunday, November 7.
