Salak Selatan LRT Station
Salak Selatan LRT station is a Malaysian low-rise rapid transit station situated near and named after the Kuala Lumpur township of Salak South. The station is part of the Sri Petaling Line (formerly known as STAR). The station was opened on July 11, 1998, as part of the second phase of the STAR system's opening, including 7 new stations along the Chan Sow Lin-Sri Petaling route. Location The Salak Selatan station is intended to serve the incorporated town of Salak South directly to the east; the station itself located behind a row of shophouses along Salak South's main carriageway, ''Jalan Sungai Besi'', towards the east. The stations exits to both Salak South to the west and Bandar Sri Permaisuri to the east. Rapid KL
Rapid KL (styled as ''rapidKL'') is a public transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia and operated by its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus. With its coverage throughout Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley areas, it was followed by a federal government restructuring of public transport systems in Kuala Lumpur after the bankruptcy of STAR and PUTRA Light Rapid Transit operators, the precursors to the Ampang/Sri Petaling Lines and Kelana Jaya Line respectively. In 2003, it had inherited bus services and assets formerly operated and owned by Intrakota and Cityliner after being bailed out. Four years later, the Malaysian government had bailed out KL Infrastructure Group, the owner and operation concession holder for the Kuala Lumpur monorail, and had placed it under ownership of Prasarana. Sri Permaisuri is a township in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located near Bandar Tun Razak and Salak South. It was opened for residential housing in 2000. Sentul LRT station is an elevated light rapid transit (LRT) station operated by Rapid Rail located in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is served by the Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line. This station is situated next to two secondary schools, the Methodist Boys Secondary School Sentul and the Wesley Methodist School, three primary schools, and several medium-density, low-cost housing developments. Sentul is a suburb located within the northern part of the city centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in the constituency of Batu. The vicinity of Sentul is sandwiched between Segambut and Titiwangsa. History Sentul is a former railway hub famous for its old-world charm, historical temples and prewar shops. During World War II, Sentul was one of the last towns in Kuala Lumpur that was heavily bombed by the British B-29 planes without any warning on 19 February 1945. The bomb targets were two rail complexes managed by Marai Tetsudo, the Japanese name for the former Federated Malay States Railway (FMSR). The destruction of the central workshop signified the end of the Japanese Occupation in Malaya. Most of the early residents in Sentul were Indians working in the train depot and central workshop built by the British, dating back to 1896. Ampang Jaya, more commonly known as just Ampang, is a town, a mukim and a parliamentary constituency straddling parts of the Hulu Langat District and Gombak District, in eastern Selangor, Malaysia.
