Sakuradai Station (Tokyo)
is a railway station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line in Nerima, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Seibu Railway. Lines Sakuradai Station is served by the Seibu Ikebukuro Line from in Tokyo to in Saitama Prefecture, and is located 5.2 km from the Ikebukuro terminus. Only all-stations "Local" services stop at this station. Station layout Sakuradai Station consists of an elevated island platform serving two tracks. Platforms History The station opened on July 10, 1936. It temporarily closed on 3 February 1945, reopening on 1 April 1948. Station numbering was introduced on all Seibu Railway lines during fiscal 2012, with Sakuradai Station becoming "SI05". Seibu Ikebukuro Line
The is a railway line of the Japanese private railway operator Seibu Railway. It originates at Ikebukuro Station, a large railway junction in north-western Tokyo, extending to northwest suburbs as far as Tokorozawa, Saitama, and nominally terminates at Agano Station. The Seibu Chichibu Line from Agano to Seibu-Chichibu Station is an extension. The operation is largely divided into two sections: from Ikebukuro to Hannō Station and from Hannō to Seibu-Chichibu Station. The section from Hannō to Seibu-Chichibu is single track, but every station except for Higashi-Hanno has passing loops, and trains may pass each other at any stop. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons.
