Sakura Kokumai
Sakura Kokumai (born October 2, 1992) is an American karateka. She won the gold medal in the women's individual kata event at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. She represented the United States in the women's kata event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Career In 2012, Kokumai won a bronze medal in the individual kata event at the World Karate Championships held in Paris, France. The following year, she won the bronze medal in the women's kata event at the 2013 World Combat Games held in Saint Petersburg, Russia. In 2014, Kokumai won the gold medal in the women's kata event at the Pan American Sports Festival held in Tlaxcala, Mexico. She won the silver medal in her event at the 2016 World University Karate Championships held in Braga, Portugal. The United States, represented by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place in the summer of 2020, the Games were postponed to July 23 to August 8, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Viviana Bottaro
Viviana Bottaro (born 2 September 1987) is an Italian karateka. She won one of the bronze medals in the women's kata event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Bottaro has also won numerous medals in the women's individual kata and women's team kata events at the World Karate Championships and the European Karate Championships. She is a three-time bronze medalist in the women's individual kata event at the World Karate Championships. She is also the 2014 European champion in this event. Sandy Scordo
Sandy Scordo (born 25 July 1985) is a French karateka. She is a two-time silver medallist at the World Karate Championships in the women's individual kata event, both in 2012 and in 2014. Career Scordo won one of the bronze medals in the women's kata event at the 2009 European Karate Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia. She won the silver medal in this event at the European Karate Championships in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Scordo won one of the bronze medals in this event in 2013 and 2014. The 2017 World Games ( pl, Igrzyska Światowe 2017), commonly known as Wrocław 2017 (german: Breslau 2017; sli, Brassel 2017), was the tenth World Games, a major international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that were not contested in the Olympic Games, held from 20 to 30 July 2017 in Wrocław, Poland.
